New Vision Engikaret School
Water in Engikaret is a gift that must be treasured. The school sits in a dry, bush region where rainfall is unpredictable and often scarce. During the dry months, children and staff must walk long distances to collect water or wait for delivery trucks that are expensive and unreliable. Every drop matters.
This project will install a rainwater harvesting system, including gutters along the roofline and storage barrels to capture and hold rain when it falls. With access to stored water, the school can cook meals, wash dishes, have clean bathing water, and irrigate the small garden where they hope to grow vegetables for the children’s lunches. A simple system like this brings an extraordinary shift: instead of rationing every cup, the school will have reliable water on-site — giving the children comfort and the staff peace of mind.
Clean water should not depend on chance. With this project, water becomes an ongoing resource, not a seasonal hope.
