Located in a rural community among the Maasai people in the Arusha region of Tanzania, Maasai Children's Home provides education to children living in semi-nomadic situations. The tribe are mainly herders of domestic animals and live in very harsh climactic conditions. The New Vision School provides and opportunity for the Maasai children to attain a quality education at a school within reach of their homesteads. In doing this, the school provides an opportunity to transform the community and give hope to their children for a better life and equal opportunity in the larger Tanzanian society.

In this community, girls are endangered with both early teenage marriages as well as circumcision. Keeping them in school prevents them from two cultural practices that are harmful and prevent them from pursuing their personal development and aspirations in life.

For boys likewise, when they are not in school they are initiated into being traditional warriors and herders at a young age. The school's hope is to provide and education that transforms the community and gives hope to all.
